Friend?

I am having a hurtful week. I have a friend that is my age that has had 2 strokes in 6yrs.For the past year I have been sitting with. I went by to check on my friend last week to see how she was doing. I called twice before I went, didn't get an answer so I was worried about her.
Needless to say she was there she just wasn't taking my calls. We visited for awhile then I left. She was acting strange. I found a friend of both of ours to sit with her while I was off 6 weeks.
I have been calling everyday this week 2&3 times a day but she won't take my calls. I was suppose to return to work Oct. 2nd .I left her messages to let me know if she still wanted me to come back.So far no calls have been returned. So finally I called yesterday and left a message since she wasn't taking my calls i assumed she didn't want me back. I also told her she would still be my friend and i stilled loved her.
This has really made me depressed because we have been friends for 9 yrs. I am so hurt that she is doing this. If she wants the other woman to work for her that is fine but don't ignore me.
Am I being childish about this? I started to go to her house and talk to her but I know it will be useless. I don't want to upset her. So I just prayed about it.
Ok I vented enough about this.
Other than that my week as been going ok.

It sounds like she's embarrrased to have to tell you she prefers the other person to sit for her. And, it's made more awkward because you arranged the other person! She should have had the respect to you to have told you, not jeopardize your friendship, as well as the job. Maybe you should write her a letter and let her know that you're more bothered by her not acknowledging your calls than losing the job.
