Prayers

I have just come back from a week in Shreveport. My brother n law is in Nero ICU. He had AVM. This is an abnormal clusters of blood vessels on the brain. They started bleeding on Dec. 3rd. He has been in a coma since then. Last Tuesday he had surgery to remove the vessels. It took 15hrs. He still hasn't come too yet. His Drs. say it is going to be along slow process. He hasn't moved anything on the right side. He has been moving everything on left side. They aren't what extent of brain damage he will have. Please remember him in your prayers.
I go tomorrow for my surgery. I pray this one works. This is the 3rd one this year. I read on the Internet that this surgery is very successful in 80% of its patients.
I finally put up our tree yesterday. I wish I could get in the Christmas Spirit more.

Thanksgiving.

With tomorrow being Thanksgiving, I decided to tell what I am thankful for. First and formost I am thankful for God and all the sacrifices he did for me. I thankful to be living in a nation where we can worship freely our God.
I thankfully to see another day.I thankful to be a 7yr. cancer survivor.
I thankful for my family.
I thankful for my friends near & far.

Election

I am sitting here thinking about the upcoming election. I for one will be glad when it is over, especially our local elections they have really gotten dirty.
I don't like Mccain. I think if he gets elected it would be 4 more years like the past 8yrs. We can't survive it.
I like Obama. I have been getting such negative email about him. I don't think any of it is true. I wonder if he wasn't an African American if there would be less negative emails. I the ones I get talk about him not saluting the flag,not where a flagpin to him being the anti christ.
I think he will be good for the middleclass. Which we need help right now. It is my opinion, the middleclass is whats keeping our nation going.
I was hoping Hilary Clinton would've gotten the nomination.
One of the things I don't like about Mccain is the fact he was having an affair with Cindy while his wife was handicapped from an accident. Especially after she waited on him to come home from being a POW. ( Beth you know that is a sore subject with me.)
I even had someone ask me if I was going to vote for Mccain? I jokingly said I wasn't going to vote because I wanted Hilary. They said you need to vote. (I AM GOING TO VOTE)
Then they said (this is the best) go vote for Mccain to keep Obama out. I WILL NOT VOTE FOR SOMEBODY I DON'T WON'T IN THERE JUST SO ANOTHER WON'T!!!!!!!!!
No matter who you are voting for be sure to go Nov.4th and cast your vote.

Evacuees are gone

My 2 evacuees I have had since Ike finally left yesterday. Even though it was my son and his girlfriend it is so NICE to have my houseback to just Mike &I. FEMA has paid for them a motel roomfor 1 month and rental assissant for 2 months. Hopefully their landlord will be starting on their apartment next week. They got 1 1/2 feet of water in their apartment.
Keep me in your prayers. My surgery didn't work. So I realize there is no way I can work anymore so I applied for social security.I pray that I can get it.So ya'll say a little pray for me.

Friend?

I am having a hurtful week. I have a friend that is my age that has had 2 strokes in 6yrs.For the past year I have been sitting with. I went by to check on my friend last week to see how she was doing. I called twice before I went,didn't get an answer so I was worried about her.
Needless to say she was there she just wasn't taking my calls. We visited for awhile then I left. She was acting strange. I found a friend of both of ours to sit with her while I was off 6 weeks.
I have been calling everyday this week 2&3 times a day but she won't take my calls. I was suppose to return to work Oct. 2nd .I left her messages to let me know if she still wanted me to come back.So far no calls have been returned. So finally I called yesterday and left a message since she wasn't taking my calls i assumed she didn't want me back. I also told her she would still be my friend and i stilled loved her.
This has really made me depressed because we have been friends for 9 yrs. I am so hurt that she is doing this. If she wants the other woman to work for her that is fine but don't ignore me.
Am I being childish about this? I started to go to her house and talk to her but I know it will be useless. I don't want to upset her. So I just prayed about it.
Ok I vented enough about this.
Other than that my week as been going ok.

Catheter came out today. Still don't know if surgery worked or not. I go back on Oct.20th for check up.

I Don't Like Ike

Well Ike has left.Thank God! We didn't get what Cameron parish and Texas got. We did get alot of wind.
I did not go to bed until Saturday morning @5. I was the tornado watcher. Everytime I think it was ok to go to bed the weatherman would say they had a tornado heading toward Eunice. Then they would say if your going to bed sleep with one eye open. So I figured I be better off staying up with both eyes open. All I really wanted to do was get comfortable.I still have the catheter inand having pants on really made me miserable.I wasn't going to get comfortable until everything was over. I wanted my draws if I got blowed away.
My house was full , my husband, my son , his girlfriend, my neice,her husband,their 3 girls,and myself.
Anyway things are back to normal with the exception of my son and his girlfriend are still here. They can't go back yet because their apartment has 1 1/2 feet of water in it.
Monday I go get the catheter out. I went last Monday but they wouldn't take it out. I promise you it will took out Monday!!!!!!! 4 weeks is enough.

Now to Sarah. I enjoy reading all ya'lls blogs. I see what a lovely family my friend has. I really enjoy reading about your family.

Ike

Ok Beth Here Goes. This is my first blog.


I am sitting here watching the weather waiting for Ike. Even though he won't make landfall here.we are still getting some nasty weather. They have already had 1 tornado touch down about 10 miles north of us. They are also to the south of us. It is going to like this for a couple of days. I left for Gustav but decided since it was going to make landfall west of us we'd be ok. I forgot about us being on the east side of. The dirty side as they call it.
I am saying a pray for those people in Texas. My Uncle Charlie lives in Angelton which is south of Houston. He left Wednesday and went to shreveport.
I will post again after Ike leaves.
